What does that mean?

Well, over the past 15 years, as a marketing consultant and in-house VP Marketing, I've helped many Israeli startups scale through strategic marketing. I make sure companies stand out in crowded markets by becoming known as category leaders.

I really enjoy building, leading, and inspiring marketing teams but I've been fortunate enough to deploy -- hands-on -- virtually all channels and market startups in most major b2b (and some b2c) vertical markets.

While I consider myself an experienced full-stack marketer and have built complete and effective inbound lead generation machines that have doubled companies' revenue, I am first and foremost a Brand Marketer.

Don't get me wrong, I live and breathe the sales funnel and love user acquisition and retention, but I believe that while there are many excellent growth tacticians, Israel is missing brand strategists. And that's a problem because all marketing campaigns should start with strategic thinking. You need a super compelling brand to grow exponentially. You need a crystal clear story to attract investors, partners, or customers.

And so, I'm really passionate about (and quite good at) strategic marketing, branding, positioning, message development, storytelling, public speaking, PR, and content marketing. Is that your thing too? Drop me a line!

What else have I done?

I am VP Marketing at Audioburst, the world's first AI-driven talk audio search engine, discovery, and distribution platform.

Previously, as Head of Communications at AppsFlyer, I ran our global comms strategy, including Brand, PR, AR, Social, and External Affairs.

Before that, as an independent marketing consultant, I helped Israeli startups stand out and scale through brand building and strategic global marketing.

Throughout my career, I have successfully rebranded and positioned companies to succeed in crowded markets, helped startups secure significant funding, and have positioned companies for M&As.

I volunteer as a Mentor at MassChallenge, the world's largest and most global accelerator, as well as MEET-MIT, JCT, Flow, and PMP.

I serve on the advisory board of PandaPitch and DrizzleX and was formerly on the User Advisory Board of Zest. I used to contribute (albeit sporadically) to Forbes, Venturebeat, and The Times of Israel, but today I share most of my content on LinkedIn.

Between 2016-2018 as VP Marketing for AnyClip I was responsible for the company’s marketing and communications strategy and implementation across all channels. I repositioned the company successfully helped secure significant funding, and worked closely with the sales team to double sales and revenue.

Before going in-house, I spent a decade consulting many dozens of startups and helping them build marketing strategies and tell their story in competitive global markets, most recently as SVP at Venture1st and VP at Finn Partners.

Before joining Finn Partners, as Director of Israel Operations for advocacy group The David Project, I went through an intensive six-month leadership and public speaking mentorship program designed and delivered by world-renowned leadership expert Dr. Tal Ben Shahar, then of Harvard University. Before that, I was a Senior Account Executive for NY-based communications consultancy Ruder Finn.

I hold an M.A. in Diplomacy and Security from Tel Aviv University and a B.A. in Communications and Journalism from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I live in Jerusalem with my wife, Rabbi Na'ama Levitz-Applbaum, and our four boys.

I love speaking to groups

I have learned virtually everything I know about public speaking from expert speaker Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, who once taught the two most popular courses at Harvard. Tal mentored me almost daily for six months back in 2007. Since then, I've spoken hundreds of times to tens of thousands of people around the globe. I've presented at accelerators such as MassChallenge in Jerusalem and Flow in Ramallah. I took the stage at industry and investor events such as NOAH in Tel Aviv and DMEXCO in Germany. I've hosted VIP delegations to Israel including the likes of Alibaba's Executive Vice Chairman and Austria's President. I have spoken in hundreds of places, including Maui, Cape Town, Sweden, Israel, the US, and Canada. I have spoken to hundreds of Birthright groups in Israel and have trained students at the prestigious AIPAC Saban Leadership Conference in DC, at the IDC, Tel Aviv University, and Hebrew University. I have also been invited to speak at colleges such as Harvard, Columbia, BU, NYC, UPenn, Ohio State, UMiami, UChicago, UC Irvine and many more.
